Is ThesisVault free?
Yes. The app is free, there are no ads, and we don’t sell your data.
Does it connect to my broker?
No. ThesisVault does no trading, sees no accounts, and fetches no market data. Any prices or targets in your vault are numbers you typed yourself.
Why no live prices?
Because a number moving while you think is what turns research into an impulse. The moment a journal flashes green and red at you all day, it becomes the slot machine it was supposed to protect you from. Nothing in ThesisVault updates on its own.
So how do I know if my research is any good?
When you close a position you enter the price you actually got out at, and Memory scores the decision. Over time you get a hit rate, your average winner against your average loser, and what it added up to. It is the one number that matters, how good your judgment has been, and it only ever looks backwards at decisions you've already finished.
What does “memory is earned” mean?
Only finished decisions enter Memory: ideas you passed on, with the reason, and positions you closed. An idea that becomes a position is not finished, so it waits. Once a record is there it can never be edited or deleted, which is what keeps a track record honest.
Is my data mine?
Fully. Export your entire vault as Markdown anytime, from the app. Your notes are your property.
Is there an Android version?
No. It runs on iPhone and in any browser, including on Android.
